Warhammer: Ogre Kingdoms 9th Ed out now!

9th ed version can now be found under the army books tab, including the bug fixes from the 8th ed version (which has also been updated today).

Download

I've also added version numbers to each of them, to make it easier for players to know if they have the latest version or not. I will do the same to each upcoming book, and then do the same for my older books (who will start at 1.0 for simplicity from now on).

  1. Have you considered adding Staff Slings as a rulebook weapon and a weapon used in various army books that use Slings? If you don't know what a Staff Sling is, look it up on google. I imagine the profile to be the same as a handgun but with Slow to Fire.

    1. Owyeah ! I remember now. Discorvered the weapon in Warhammer Fantasy RPG. Historically accurate but very rare in settings of all kind.

    2. Could fit Halflings and Bretonnia's Peasants* imo.
      Maybe Skaven.

*French armies used staff sling in siege offence/defence. Check sources maybe but i'm pretty sure.

    3. Staffslings are mentioned in WFRP, yes. I could definitively see Albion, and maybe halflings use them. I'll consider adding it to the Albion book.

As for Bretonnia, I might add slings to the Peasant levy, but I don't think they need staffslings on top of that.

  4. Is there a reason why the maneaters and the rhinox riders in Ogre Kingdom and in Dogs of War have different stats but costs the same? Or is this a mistake?

    1. No, they should be the same. The stats for the Maneaters looks the same to me though, where are they different?

    2. In Dogs of War the Maneaters have BS 4 instead of 3.

  5. On p.115, there is a minor error. Under the Mawseeker name rules, it says
"When a character with the Mawseeker name has +1 Toughness on his profile. He also suffers from the Stupidity special rule."
The first line should just read "A character with the Mawseeker name has +1 Toughness on his profile."
Btw, great work on all the army books and rules for 9th edition :)

  6. Why do ogres not have the fear special rule any more and why did butchers loose immunity to poison? Both rules made a lot of sense to me.

  7. Hello, first of all thank you for all this fantastic work, i believe it's amazing and i love this rules and armies reinventing!
I need to ask just one thing about the Ogres: their ironfist is said to be either a hand weapon or a shield, but... I got the feeling it's more a buckler than a shield. I can't imagine blocking arrows with an iron glove, they would bounce straight over the head or the shoulder, if not impaling the arm. Would it be more realistic to treat the ironfist as a buckler/hand weapon, no? Better for parrying, useless against shooting.
