Now this is a bit of a different thing altogether, but seeing as the majority of the models on sale were bought with the WAP armies in mind, I'm sure this can be of interest to some of you. Last week I cleaned out a ton of old Warhammer that I no longer have any use - or indeed space - for any more, and this week I am doing the same, but mainly for historical miniatures and other fantasy games.
As such, if you play one of my unofficial army books and you are in need of some fitting models, I now have a pretty big selection up for sale on Ebay that I am auctioning off (unfortunately they won't let me list more than 100 things a month, so the rest will have to wait for next month). So, if you currently are or plan to collect either Araby, Albion, Bretonnia, Cathay, Nippon, Kislev, Dogs of War, Estalia, Halflings, Norse, Pirates of Sartosa, Empire, Vampire Counts, Slaanesh Daemons, Dark Elves or High Elves, you can find suitable things for them in the link below:
Don't happen to have any Dark Elf Reaper Bolt Throwers by chance? Damned hard models to find at a reasonable price... :-)
ReplyDeleteJust put in a bid on your dark elf BSB though
Not that I am willing to part with I'm afraid, the two I have I'd like to keep :)
DeleteI do have http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/Virina/latest/03084 and http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/dark%20elf%20crossbow/latest/60054 as well as a converted Dreadlord based this model: http://www.darkswordminiatures.com/shop/index.php/female-cavalier-with-sword-shield.html for sale too (just not up on Ebay right now). Is that something you'd have any use for? I planned to use the two Reaper minis as Harpy and Shade champions respectively.
I figured.Had to ask though :-)
DeleteNotso intersted in the harpy one, but I might be interested in the other two as I'm doing the whfb/rpg crossover project centered on Dark Elves, in which case some rpg inspired models might come in handy too. :-)
I've listed all 3 as one deal, so you'd get the Harpy for free if you are interested in the other two :)
DeleteI've placed some bids for the Mongol infantry. Any chance you still have the large rectangular shields (and/or other bits and weapons from the sprew) for them?
ReplyDeleteI managed to find the sprues, still have 8 of the rectangular shields on them. I think I might have more of them in my bits box, though not sure where. Are 8 shields + the other sprue parts enough? Otherwise I'll see if I can dig up the rest and include them as well if you win :)
Deleteunrelated to the ebay sales- I am curious about what models you had in mind for the Wu Xia in the Cathay book. In all my searching I've only been able to find some turtles riding giant frogs (Pond Wars) which might work, but it would be very difficult to get riders' legs positioned correctly to fit on them.
DeleteHard to find a really suitable model for them without converting I think. However, these guys would fit the bill pretty well I think: http://www.watchfulistudio.com/uploads/8/6/5/1/86513826/s262428307866417382_p16_i8_w1818.jpeg
DeleteBtw, I found some more of the rectangular shields in my bits box, around 16 in total with the ones on the sprue I think.
This is unrelated to you selling models but since you've made Throwing Weapons possess an 8" range I think you should do the same for various explosive ones unique to various Army Books. I'm talking about Grenades, Kvassnics, Poisoned Wind Globes and similar things I've probably forgotten. The only exception is Hurled Heads from Albion which I think should remain at being a 6" range since they are larger and less aerodynamic than the earlier mentioned weapons.
ReplyDeleteI think that will vary, a throwing knive is generally much lighter than a molotov for instance. I reckon I will go through them on a one by one basis.
DeleteMaybe add http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Curs%27d_Ettin in Norsca?
ReplyDeleteThey will be added to WoC is the plan, Ettin are more enemies of the normal Norse than their allies.
DeleteHas Ettin's been featured in any warhammer lore since 3-4th ed? Is there any models for them? The WoC list is already bloated with monster options, so I must I'm a little sceptical as to what is really gained by including them from a tactical standpoint...
DeleteThey had a Forge World model, yes. It's true that WoC has a lot of monsters already, but that's were the Ettin would fit if it's to be included.
Deletei put in a bid on the mierce mini of wiglere. i reckon he'll make a good amber wizard or choas sorceror
ReplyDeleteYeah, I planned to use him as a Norse shaman, but then I got another 6 shamans from Blood Rage and already had another 12 wizards in my DoW I figured I did not really need it. Would make a great beast wizard though :)
Deletehello mathias,
ReplyDeletehave you ever mentionend to give high elves a monstrous cavalry?? i´ve seen some really awesome white lions on war lions....
High Elves do have a lot of cavalry already, but it could be a cool idea for a hero mount option I think.
Deletedear mathias,
ReplyDeletewhen do you expect do be finished with the empire?
can´t wait to read all the fluff and to field my troops.
Hard to say exactly, it might be possible to finish it at the end of this month, otherwise I expect it to be done next month at the latest.
DeleteGot your Estalian Musketeers ^_^
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I will send them today, finished packing almost everything last night, so now I have around 35 packages to drop off :)
