This book contains all Magic Items created by GW and featured in the 6th and 7th Ed army books, as well as Warhammer Chronicles and Expansions.
As some of these items currently have the same or very similar effects as several main rulebook items, I'm open to suggestions how to make them different. For the beta version, I've mainly just focused on compiling everything, though you will notice that some items has changed slightly for balance and usability. So while everything here should be playable, it should by no means be considered finished.
Note that magic items that already belong to Special Characters or are in the main rulebook are not featured here. In case you think a Magic Item is missing, I recommend you check it's not elsewhere in the army book or the main rulebook first. For Warriors of Chaos, many missing items will instead appear in the Special Characters book.
Once the 1.0 version is ready for release, I will decide whether to keep the magic items in a separate book, or implement all Magic Items in the separate army books like in 6th and 7th ed.
No new dwarf runes? :)
ReplyDeleteAll Dwarf runes are already in their army book.
DeleteSorry but what is with magoc items for the alternative armies?
ReplyDeleteThey don't exist, this just compiles all the official GW items.
DeleteThanks for you great work. Here you can find a list of special magic items from Albion's campaign, published by White Dwarf (page 46, Warhammer Chronicles):

Thanks, but I have intentionally left them out since they are not really items that are created by these armies. They are really just 40k items randomly given out among a few armies.
Delete-Several of these Magic Items are generic enough in their fluff that I feel that they could be made available to all armies. Things like Holy Relics, Cold Iron Blades, Dragonscale Shield, Null Talismans, Tenebrous Cloak or Crystal Balls.
ReplyDelete-The Beastmen Steel Claws tells the player to roll a D3 and on a roll of 6, the attacks ignore armor but the roll of a D3 can only go as high as 3. Change it to D6/2 (rounded up) perhaps?
-Perhaps the Stone of Spite could instead place the small template over the owner of the Arcane item.
-I think Preyseeker would be better if the player can choose if the unit shows up. More control that way.
-Perhaps the Sacrament of the Lady does not roll a dice to determine if it has run out but instead, up to four can be purchased (10 points each).
-The Skull Totem should be Daemon of Khorne only, the Standard of Seeping Decay should be Daemon of Nurgle only, the Siren Standard should be Daemon of Slaanesh only.
-I kinda think that the Sacrificial Banner should be able to be taken by any unit even if they can't normally take magic banners so that a cheap unit can be used to draw opponent monsters instead of an expensive or limited unit.
-Does the Pendant of Vengeance have a maximum range? Does it affect every Anvil of Doom on the field?
-The Blade of Revered Tzunki has its fluff say its unbreakable so maybe make it immune to spells and other effects that negate magic items.
-Why would Basha's Bloodaxe and the WAAAGH! Cleava be unavailable to Savage and Black orcs?
-The Amulet of Protectyness says that "they count as having the same armour ward save as the model that caused the wound".
-Have you considered moving putting the Asp Bow in the Vampire Counts list of magic weapons?
-Why is the Whip of Pleasure Two-handed?
-Spawnhood is permanent so I think that the Gaze of the Gods should cause a model turned into a Chaos Spawn by it to count as slain.
-The Festering Shroud should be Mark of Nurgle only and the Rapturous Standard should be Mark of Slaanesh only.
-There are countless grammar and spelling mistakes.
Do you have any plans on making Army Books for Kurgans and Pigmies?
ReplyDeleteNope, sorry.
DeleteI don't think Kurgans have an original Army book to base on. Then again, neither did Sartosa, to my knowledge. Pygmies do have units, Standard bearers, and witch-doctor spellcasters. However, they don't seem to have a unique lore of magic. Kurgans could be part of the Warriors of Chaos book. Pygmies, I think at best, could be a mini-book, auxiliary to the maybe the Amazons, or in a campaign book involving Bahb-Ellon. Granted, that would be old 1st edition Warhammer or White Dwarf. Still, pygmies are not the most essential faction in Warhammer Fantasy, unless you feel like being thorough. Maybe they could added in WAY down the line; like after every other army book is done. Still, the matter of smaller factions of note getting a book or not is up to you. By the way, Was there a rule about combined armies? Like combining Empire and Brettonia vs Warrior of Chaos/Daemon of Chaos/Beastman army?
ReplyDeleteI would would take the inspiration from Marvel, how they envisioned Wakanda from Pygmies. In the movie, they had really cool army, with those rhinos, energy shields, warrior women etc.
DeleteHi. The 7th ed. Warriors Of Chaos had a weapon called Chaos Runesword. That would be nice to have. :-) / Regards J-A
ReplyDeleteHi again. Once again I didn't pay attention and missed your comment about missing Warriors Of Chaos items. But it still would be nice to have that weapon now. :-) / Regards J-A
DeleteJervis Johnoson to one of this chronique do a table for magic items to WFB8. Maybe retake this?
ReplyDeleteHi.
ReplyDeleteGot a queston about combining mutations, powers, items:
If I take the
'Soul Feeder' (Chaos Mutations And Powers -
"Roll a D6 for every unsaved Wound the character inflicts
on an enemy unit in close combat. For each result of a 6 rolled,
they immediately regain a single lost Wound.")
and combine it with the weapon,
from Magic Items - Warriors Of Chaos, called
'Blade Of Blood' ("For every unsaved Wound caused
by the Blade of Blood, the wielder may take a Strength test.
If passed, the wielder regains 1 Wound previously
lost during the game. However, if the test is failed,
the wielder loses 1 Wound with no saves allowed
instead.").
If I do that with A Chaos Lord (S5)
does that take the 'Blade Of Blood'
penalty of rolling a 6 away?
Any thoughts?
I think you have to do separate rolls.
DeleteOne for Soul Feeder, and one Strength Test for the Blade of Blood.
