Updates for books uploaded!

I took longer than expected, but I've finally managed to post all the updates (apart from the Dogs of War book, which I need to inquire with my co-writers).

Minor changes for most, a bit of tweaking with points cost and fixing wording on the rules. Albion has seen a few changes with updating magic items to 8th edition, Norse has gained a new special character, a boost to the Berserkers and a rewording on the shieldwall.
Amazons and Estalia have gained mostly points tweaks, especially Estalia should hopefully have the Inquisitorial powers sorted out now for better balance.
Araby has gotten some changes to the Genies (yet again), and they should now be more worth taking with a boost to their Wishes rule.
Nippon has seen the biggest changes, Way of the Warrior works very different, as do the Katana, they have options for Sashimonos, Hatamoto has gained a WS boost, Red Devil can now take Horo Cloaks for missile protection, Warrior Monks can re-roll to to hit and to wound, the Shrine of the Kami has gained a 4+ Ward and the Ronin also have the Way of the Warrior rule now

Note that apart from the Albion book, only Scribd have the latest version, I'll upload the new versions to 4shared soon.

There are probably more changes that I have missed, but that should be the biggest ones. So just keep playtesting and let me know of anything else I might have missed or changes you'd like to see, and I'll see what I can do about it :)

For now, I am planning to take a break for a while, but aim to be back with Warhammer Armies - Halflings by early 2011, so stay tuned!

Well, not as much massive as all-encompassing. Updates for all the books, fixing bugs, 7th edition remnants and points costs will be out soon.

Warhammer Armies - Amazons out now!

t took a bit longer than I had expected, but I'm finally finished with version 1.0 of the Amazon list! I do not consider it being my best work by any means, but those of you who want to field an army of jungle-dwelling berserker-women now have that option!

Dogs of War update

An update fixing some bugs and issues with the Dogs of War and Regiments of Renown pdfs. Not essential to download, but still recommended.

Warhammer Armies - Dogs of War out now!

Finally, the Dogs of War project has come to an end (almost) with the release of version 4.0 of the list and the accompanying booklet "Regiments of Renown".

Numbering over 160 pages, this is the ultimate source of mercenaries for Warhammer ever made!

Note that while it is complete (apart from the gallery section), it is likely too see some minor changes for bugfixes and rules clarifications in the short future, but this will be notified in that case.

Warhammer Armies - Amazons are under development!

While I am finishing up on Dogs of War (done apart from rule changes and bug fixes with the development team), I have started on a smaller side project. Ind will be put on hold for a while as I start digging into the background of the Amazons of Lustria. The Amazons are more intended to be used as an Allied Contingent rather than a stand-alone army, although it will be possible to field it as such as well. Background-wise I will be following GW canon as much as possible, basing them more on Mayan and Aztec mythology rather than Greek. And yes, I threw in some Pygmy allies there for good measure!

Lords:
Serpent Priestess
Senior Champion of Rigg

Heroes:
Priestess
Champion of Rigg

Core:
Amazon Warriors (spears, shields,bows)
Scouts (javelins, skirmish, scouts)
Eagle Warriors (javelins, shields, LA)
Koka-Kalim (two hand weapons, frenzy)
Huntresses (jaguar mounts, javelins)

Special:
Jaguar Warriors (HW, Shield, LA)
Totem Guardians (Great weapons, LA, sclay skin cloaks, stubborn, fear)
Hand Maidens (Sunstaffs, claws of the old ones)
Plumed Archers (bow, poisoned attacks, swiftstride, skirmish)
Culchan Riders (mounted, skirmish, bow)
Pygmies (blowpipes)

Rare:
Gorols (gorillas)
Horned One Riders (spears, shields, LA, scaly skin cloaks)
Coatl (winged serpent)

More Estalia fixes

This latest batch fixes some more magic items and adds various rules clarifications. Grenadiers had a major misprint in pts costs; they should be 16 pts each, not 28.

Estalia fixes

I have uploaded a new version of Estalia that fixes several magic items in pts cost and descriptions. Inquisitor Powers have gotten a serious overhaul as well.

More army books planned in the future!

While I should (and will) be solely working on finishing Dogs of War (140 pages done so far... no I'm not THAT insane, I have been working on them for longer than 2 days), I can't help to think about more army books down the line. Of course you will get to see the Kingdoms of Ind after Dogs of War in a few months (Ind will probably take a while to finish), but after that I have pretty much gone through most of the armies without rules. Except two, namely the Amazons of Lustria and the Halflings of the Moot! While these two factions are not really in any need of their own army books, I still feel they very much deserves a bigger mention in the Warhammer background, and as such I am planning on releasing a book for each of them sometime in the future. They will likely be a bit shorter than my other books, but should fall in nicely on about 50 pages each by my calculations.

I have already found quite a bit of info on the Amazons, and will try to get hold of the Citadel Journal #36 as soon as possible for the Halflings. These projects are still far away in the future (at least a few months, probably beginning of next year), but those of you who want to play some ferocious warrior women or hungry halflings will have something to look forward to in the future!

Dogs of War are under development!

What is probably one of the highest wishes of today's Dogs of War players (including me) is an updated rules-set for their favourite army. And while it won't be official, it will be complete, balanced, and above all, a fun list for people to use. The Dogs of War army book is a collaborative project on http://www.dogsofwaronline.com/ that has been going on for many months and is now nearing completion, or at least a proper army book to look at.

Warhammer Armies: Dogs of War and the accompanying booklet Regiments of Renown can be expected in about a month or so, and will feature over 160 pages of mercenary goodness! For the veteran players it will likely be a nice nostalgia trip, whereas players just starting out with the army will find all the background and info that is otherwise lacking from GW's pdf's in it. Dogs of War players rejoice, for your time will soon come!

(Naturally, the finished cover won't be this blurry)

Nippon fixes

Thanks to some great feedback, I have been able to fix several bugs and clear up a lot of question marks in the Nippon list. It's recommend to download the new version if you intend to play the list. Note that this version is Scribd only, the 4shared download is slightly outdated.

In other news, Estalia is almost finished now. I am hoping to have it out by tonight.

Warhammer Armies: Estalia is under development!

Dogs of War might be put on hold for a moment (due to some news of a possible official list in the works), so for now I've turned my attention to Estalia. Estalia will, as one could guess, be based on the Conquistadors and the Inquisition, so no real surprises there. I have collected material all over the internet for the past few days, giving me about 100 pages to use as a basis for the list.
More updates will be posted in the future.

- Hearth Guard bodyguard rule more viable
- Kelpie Adhesive Skin rule added
- 3 more pages of background

I do not expect to do much more work on this book, anything more will likely depend solely on playtest feedback.

Nippon updated to 8th edition

Nippon has now been updated to 8th edition. Very minor rules changes to bring the book in line with the current rules.

New units included:

- Tengu: mischievous birdmen, similar to Harpies.
- Red Devils: frenzied heavy cavalry with devastating charge, giving them 3 Strength 5 Attacks on the charge!
- Shrine of the Kami: Warshrine-like unit with stat-boosting abilities.

I have not trimmed down the timeline yet as I do not consider that being the most important thing at the moment. I hope to do that, and expand the bestiary entries sometime in the future, but this will do for now.

More army books?

For those of you wondering or hoping for more books in the future: yes, there will be at least 3 more.

I am planning on making army books for Dogs of War, Estalia and the Kingdoms of Ind at the moment, no release date set so far though.

These will commence writing sometime during the fall, have taken a shorter break to do updates for the older lists first. Rest assured, you can probably expect Dogs of War sometime before Christmas at least, probably a lot sooner.

Kislev will be getting another update with images for the War Wagon and Urugan cannon later on.

Araby will also be getting a small update with more bugfixes soon. Next in line for an 8th edition update is Nippon, which will feature several new units (and a shorter timeline).

Araby cover fix

Noticed that there was a few bugs in the latest version of Araby, making the cover blurry due to low resolution as well as lines across a few other pictures and missing text from the Sultan's Titles. These have been fixed now.

Download problems?

If you are one of those who are having trouble downloading from Scribd, use the following steps:

IF you have a Facebook account, you can link it to Scribd and you should be able to download without registrering. Do NOT download or install anything, if an add say so, just skip it and go to the next page.

If you do NOT have a Facebook account, you can register at Scribd for free to download everything without any hassle at all. The latter is recommended.

In either case, I will upload all books to 4shared as soon as I have updated them to 8th edition, in which case you do not need to register at all.
