After several months of toiling, I'm glad to announce that all army books are now updated to 3.1! It took quite a lot longer than planned as I also went through each book and fixed a bunch of grammar issues and added rules clarifications. Like I mentioned in my previous post, these updates have only been announced on Discord, in case anyone thinks I have been absent for several months doing nothing.
While working on this update wave, there were also some issues that needed addressing regarding Impact Hits and Always Strikes First, which have been mostly fixed. Models without regular attacks (like Chariots) still have Impact Hits, whereas Monsters and similar now have their Impact Hits be represented by their regular attacks, often with Mighty Blow on the charge instead. This way, there's no weird inconsistencies why some models attacking their horns get Impact Hits, and some do not.
However, with the 3.2 version of the game (expected early next year) I plan on making it so that Stomp occur as Impact Hits when charging, representing the mass of these creatures without giving them extra hits. Likewise, long weapons like spears, pikes and lances will get the Always Strikes First special rule (without the re-rolls) instead of Initiative bonuses. So ASF in this case represents their physical reach, while Initiative represents reaction speed.
As a result, you might find that a few things in the patch notes are not 100% correct when it comes to the pricing of some core units with options for spears, as some have spears as part of their base cost and free spears as an option, whereas other are paying for spears at a cheaper base cost. There are also a few instances where the patch notes mention things that are already in my working document for 3.2, but not in the 3.1 pdf. This will be fixed in 3.2, along with more bug fixes.
Rather than needing to wait several months for each book to be updated to 3.2 once the main rules are out, I'm planning on releasing everything at the same time. As a result, there likely won't be any other update posts until then, though I will be posting planned changes on the Discord server as usual.
Thanks for sticking with me folks, especially my Patreons whose support makes this whole thing worth it!
