The Warhammer Expansion: Classic Regiments of Renown out now!

While I've been nursing my finally-passing cold, I've fortunately still managed to get some work done on the rules. And with that, I present to you for the first time since what, 1989, a complete 8th ed update for these almost forgotten Regiments of Renown. A few have purposely been omitted since they either don't fit with the current fluff (such as the half-Orcs) or are already part of the current army books (Golgfag, Grom, Mengil, Lothern Sea Guard).
The units within have been given new artwork and updated equipment more fitting to the current edition. The Saurus for instance do not have bows (hard to hit anything with BS0!) and the Wood Elves do not have shields, as would be most unfitting.

Anyway, enough dilly-dallying, here are the rules:

Upcoming stuff

So as you may have noticed there has been a slight lack of updates lately, which is mostly due to me actually not working much on the books at the moment. However, I'm glad to say that the RoR update is now well under way, and should be released reasonably soon.

But seeing as that might not seem like all that much fun, I would also like to announce the soon to be released Classic Regiments of Renown, which encompasses units all the way back from the 80's! These have been given a much needed makeover with up to date rules and art work, and will be released as a stand alone book that can be used with the Dogs of War book.

There will also be a larger update for Hobgoblins in the future, which will add some new units, background, and their own spell lore.

More to follow!

Warhammer - Dogs of War 4.1 out now!

Finally! We have managed to work out all the kinks for now, and are very proud to present the next update for the book.

For the most part, it has seen some toning down in power level with slightly more expensive troops and revised traits, and there has been a lot of streamlining to get more in line with 8th edition overall, including the army list format. But I'll let you have a look at the details yourself before complaining, I'm off to lunch!

New Bretonnia update out now!

All right, back from my vacation in Turkey and almost done with the Dogs of War update, so I've worked on a new update for the Bretonnia book. Mostly nerfs to spells and some abilities to tone down the power level where needed. Truffle Hounds now remain in play if they fail their charge as well.

Hit a small bump on the writing front, I've been working a little bit on both Kislev, Nippon and Chaos Dwarfs lately, but haven't made that much progress apart from adding a bunch of new units. A lot of formatting to do still, which will take quite some time.
Dogs of War will be released very soon, however!

News for upcoming Nippon update!

Don't get overexcited just yet; Kislev will get its due first, and Dogs of War should be released even before that. But, I figured I would give you some insight on what to expect.
First off, the timeline will be trimmed down considerably from the current insane 18 pages that it is now to about 4-6. The rest of the book will then follow suit with trimmed down magic items (sad, I know) and general layout changes.
All bestiary entries will be expanded upon with more fluff and some new rules and will no longer have a ton of white space on them, and each unit will hopefully have its own page in the end.
As for new units, there's a lot coming:

Damned Ones
Lion's Pride
Battle Maidens
Yoritomo Marines
Legion of Flame
Scorpion Claws
Doji's Fan
Miromoto Mountaineers
Sky Rocket

I won't reveal what all of these units are yet (mainly because I haven't fully decided upon all of them and haven't begun making any rules for them), but if you are familiar with the L5R universe you might recognize some of the names ;)
In short, there will be a specialized unit for each Greater Clan as well as a war machine for the army, which should help diversify the list even more than "just another Samurai list". On top of that, Nippon will finally get their own Lore, the Lore of the Kami, which is based around the elements of fire, air, earth and water. If that wasn't enough, they will also get Clan Mon, traits and upgrades for your characters which will greatly affect their role on the battlefield and allow you to really make an army after a Greater Clan of your choice.

So stay tuned for more on Nippon this summer!

Good news for Kingdoms of Ind!

Having found some great source material from old RPG books, I should now have a decent base as to develop the background for Warhammer's Kingdoms of Ind. In effect, this means that the complete version will be published with the next update, which should hopefully be this summer.

The next book on the table to receive an update is Kislev, followed by Norse.

Dogs of War should come somewhere in between, but since I am not working on that one alone, I cannot say for sure when it will be finished.

Chaos Dwarfs are slightly on hold at the moment, but should still see a release some time this summer.

Another Araby update out now!

So after some contemplation, I decided to make a couple of changes to the list (again). Genies can now act as individual units (you're welcome, Pumpavius!) and are ethereal , and thus replaces the Sandwraith, which is gone from the list.
Bladedancers have been moved back to Rare, and the Hashishin special choice has been replaced by the Mujahiden, skirmishing scouts armed with handguns. Hashishin are still part of the list, but only as a hero choice.
