Bretonnia update out now!

The first Bretonnia update is now online, fixing a myriad of bugs, from copy/paste errors to FAQ changes and points changes for some units.

Jasperre still needs a small update I just noticed, should be fixed by the end of next week.

Warhammer: Bretonnia (unofficial 8th ed) out now!

So after toiling away for nearly the entire day (almost 12 hours straight, back says ouch!), I've finally finished the Bretonnia book, my longest to date! Clocking in at nothing less than 197 pages, this tome contains pretty much everything there is to know on Bretonnians, with tons of fluff compiled from both 5th and 6th ed army books as well as Knights of the Grail from WFRP.

The list contains nothing less than 7 new units and the return of 12 classic special characters, a Lore of the Lady, and revised virtues, magic items and army list, fully updated to 8th edition!

Enjoy, I'll be getting myself a sandwich and a good night's sleep now...

Hobgoblin update out now!

A rather small update rules-wise. Waki'yas have gotten a buff with T5 and are lowered to 125 pts, and Dire Wolves and gotten more expensive at 45 pts.

Apart from that, I've changed the background to something more suitably greenskinnish, which also eliminates any "white-images-on-grey-background" that might have been. Grey text boxes have also been replaces with animal skins, and the blurry BSB square has been cleared up.

So for the most part, just graphical changes, but it looks a bit prettier now. Also updated the cover to 8th edition.

Details for upcoming "Mercenaries of Tilea"

I couldn't really help myself, so I've been scouring around the net for ideas as usual, and worked out the cover for the book as well. Note that this is only an expansion to the existing Dogs of War rules, and not a complete book in itself.

As mentioned in the previous post, Mercenaries of Tilea will focus exclusively on the land of Tilea and the local Mercs from that region. These units can be used with the existing Dogs of War rules, with your opponents permission as usual.

Some of the units in its current state:

Heroes:
Master Assassin (yeah, the stabbing kind)

Core:
Spear Militia (LA, spears, shields)
City Watch (LA, HW, shields)
Broken Lances (HA, GW, HW, Shields)
Condottieri (HA, lance, shield, mounted)
Verezzian Infantry (HA, shields, warhammers, bows)
Trantian Crossbowmen (crossbow, pavise)
Tobarian Marines (LA, pistol, HW)
Reman Legionnaires (LA, HW, shields, javelins)
Luccinian Pikemen (LA, pikes, shields)

Special:
Merchant Guard (HA, HW, pistols)
Renegade Knights (HA, shields, morning stars, mounted, barding)
Miraglianese Arquebusiers (LA, handguns, pavise)
Famiglia Ducale (FPA, lances, shields, mounted, barding)
Sartosan Pirates (pistols, handguns)
Pavonian Assassins (two hand weapons)

Rare:
Carroccio Standard (inspirational altar)
Ribault (organ gun)

More projects on the horizon!

While I'm working on the Bretonnian book (Chaos Dwarfs is on hold for now), I have also started working on the next update for Dogs of War which has been due for quite some time. This will see some changes in the magic items and Traits section, but also a new layout for the army list itself. Also been tinkering with the Halflings, Norse, and Kislev books. Halflings and Kislev will get some more fluff in the next update (just fleshing out some bestiary entries really), as well as a revised magic items section. Legacies of Kislev will be gone as well. The Norse will get a new hero choice called a Slaver, and the rules for the War Mammoth will change to those from Tamurkhan, as well as a magic item revision and more fluff for some units. These will be added at a later date. And there will also be some new books! 4 smaller projects are planned: - Mercenaries of Tilea: a source book on Tilea based on Spears of the Maiden which will add a bunch of additional mercenary units to the fold, like Assassins, Broken Lancers, Ribaults, Caroccios, light infantry with warhammers and longbows, you name it! Also included will be some fan-made regiments of Renown. - Classic Regiments of Renown: This will just be an extension to the already existing RoR book. It will include the classic RoR's from the 80's like the Mother Crushers, Knights of Origo, and many, many more! - Cult of Slaanesh: Kinky stuff! Will contain a ton of fluff on the cult and lure of Slaanesh itself, as well as a revised army list for 8th edition. - Cult of Ulric: A detailed description of the cult and the city of Middenheim where it resides, as well as a revised army list for 8th edition. A ton of stuff coming in the future, in short!

Halfling update out now! More Bretonnia news!

Another update for the furry feeted fellas! This one fixes a couple of statline errors, adds a little more background to the Halfling religion, and changes the layout quite a bit. No more white pictures on grey background, with a redone page border that doesn't intrude as much in the army list.
I have also changed the format of the army list to follow that of 8th edition, which should eliminate the weird text overlapping of the Enchanter entries.

In other news, I'm currently working a lot on the Bretonnia book, which should be the longest by far. Will even have to cut down on some of the fluff lest it be over 200 pages long! Some of you wanted more options for wizards, which you will get in the forms of priests/priestesses of Shallya. Also included will be Templar Crusaders, support characters that makes your knights even deadlier in combat. A couple of more units are in the works as well, a unit of Falconers that will act as cheap flyers (still working on the rules) and a Sacrosanct of the Lady, basically a mobile Grail Chapel, which can give the army some nifty boosts.

Note that none of these things are set in stone though and can (and likely will) change during the development phase.

Also, re-did the cover for 8th edition, should make it less confusing to know which edition it belongs to. Will do the same with the rest of my armies when I get around updating them.
