Details for upcoming Kingdoms of Ind update

Also known as "the book that was never finished" (by me at least). Well, this summer I aim to change that. Ind will finally have a complete background section with history, geography, and a decent amount of society. It won't be a huge tome, but they will get around 25 pages or so to describe the faction in more detail.

As far as the army list goes, it will see a pretty large expansion in terms of units. At the moment, these additions will be the following:

Vishkanya (assassin character)
Rajputs (basic infantry)
Urumi Swordsmen (basic infantry)
Snake Swarms (swarms)
Thuggees (skirmishing main line unit)
Bengal Cavalry (MC)
Ganeshas (MI)
Lore of Eternal Truth (spell lore)

I would also like to be possibly expand upon their mythological units with more options. So for those well versed in Hindu mythology, what other creatures not already in the book would you like to see make an entrance?

Do note that the Kingdoms of Ind are scheduled sometime after Albion and Sartosa, so do not expect this book for a few months still!

  1. bakasura the great devorer, a daemon ogre or maybe the name of ind ogre

    1. Bakasura is more of a Daemon though, not really a benevolent creature. I'd rather focus on the gods and creatures that are more likely to help the inhabitants of Ind rather than eating them ;)

  2. The Brahmastra, perhaps as a war machine or a magic weapon
    Dhumavarna, king of the Nagas

    1. Brahmastra is already in the book as a magic weapon. Dhumavarna could be a good choice for a special character though.

  3. In the old ogre kingdoms rulebook there is an ítem called "statue of brahmin". It came from Ind and causes fear in the chaos followers.

    1. The Brahmir is one of their 4 Greater Avatars, so also already in there ;)

  4. That flying fortress thingy you announced but didn't include the last time?

    1. The Vimanas you mean? I thought about it, but it's both really hard to find any decent artwork of it, and it feels a little off in the Warhammer background, being essentially a "flying steam tank of the gods - without steam". I might be able to work around it into something plausible though.

  5. The divine mounts as Mc or mounts for characters? I'm thinking here of that White Elephant or the hundred-headed snake.

    1. Don't think the White Elephant would be different enough from a normal Royal Elephant to warrant being its own unique choice. A snake with 100 heads would likely be impossible to model at all. I think they will do all right with just the Basilisk in the snake-monster department.
Their new Bengal Cavalry will fill the role of MC though (even if they kind of already have it with their normal War Elephants).

    1. Couldn't fit them in on the page unfortunately, ran out of space. Might include them in the army list section instead.

  7. But are they going to get them?

    1. Well yeah, probably, as long as I will be able to fit them in on the page somehow. No point in including more special rules than I have space for ;)

  8. Pls try to include them, since elephants are a hallmark for Ind it would be a pity not to have them be a little more versatile... :D

    1. Oh, I will. I'm gonna try to extend the war elephants' rules to 2 pages like the Necrosphinx.

  9. yesterday i played a game with araby against skaven and it was really funny. the sandstorm saved my half army against the enemy missile attacks (2x10 jezzails, 2 retlings etc. ) and at the end my friend said also that your armies are really good balanced. i love the imams and dibbukims. and the sultan is really expensive but each point worth.

you make so f***ing really good work with this books. its cooler to play with araby as with my dark elves which i normally play.

greez günni (and excuse my english ;-) )
