Announcing: Empire Knightly Orders!

Another mini-expansion coming out soon!
"Where's the damn Nippon/Norse/Ind update!" you might say, and they are on the way, but I'd like to deal with some minor stuff first to get into the groove, so to speak.
This expansion will be about - you guessed it - all the various Empire Knightly Orders mentioned in the fluff, that actually had different rules back in Citadel Journal 45. This means there will be some repetition in the form of Reiksguard, Knights Panther and so on, but they will also get expanded fluff compared to other versions and will, above all, be found in one place for easy access.
This should be a really short project, you can probably expect a release within a week or two.

    1. The Kislev book is at the top of the list yes, so that one should see a release after this (well, that or Chaos Dwarfs). Bears and Sons of Ursun will still be on 40mm bases yes, but the Legacies are gone I'm afraid. Some of them will be incorporated into the main rules instead however.
The Hags will probably be more like normal spellcasters, atm it is too easy to abuse the magic system by having both an Ice Mage and a Hag mother, and thus get two magic phases in one turn. Hags will get their own spell lore though, so not all bad news :)

  2. sounds good thanks again for the info im doing kislev up because of your releases i spent 6 hours yesterday painting 5 gryphon legion i thought the demigryphs on 50x75mm bases was stupid there slightly bigger than horses lol aw well no biggie with the legacies i understand your thinking im not that kind of gamer lol having there own lore will be cool though especially if its spirit related should be fun she should still have a chance of annoying the spirit though lol i can see you really thought about the hags btw i also love the idea behind the ice armour for the witch and the blizzard spell seems funny if she looses control i love little funny stuff like that

a couple things i would love to see in the army is something like a stone horn from ogre but more bear like obviously and possibly werebear characters kind of like doom bulls etc and maybee the possibility to upgrade winged lancers to strength 4 rather kind of like inner circle kind of idea

another thing i really liked the cult of Ulrics presentation because im a designer etc great work

at the moment i have 5 gryphon legion , 5 winged lancers , 2 ice queens ,4 bears pack with master and 19 kossars so getting there lol

    1. The Hags will still have their special "miscast" table yes, will see how I'll deal with that while still keeping it balanced.

Kislev will get plenty of new units as well, you'll probably find something you'll like. No werebears though, that's more Norse territory (like Beorg Bearstruck from DoW). Winged Lancers already have an inner circle upgrade, the Gryphon Legion is pretty much that, with ItP as an added bonus ;)

Glad you like the presentation, I intend to make more books in colour from now on. Kislev will still be in B&W though as most images aren't in colour. Cathay and Nippon will get the full colour treatment however!

Good luck with your Kislev army, I have about the same amount of models for them myself, but I've only gotten around to paint 5 Winged Lancers yet. Too many armies ;)

  3. i like that idea

    what kind of units

i agree about the werebear but i think a single model in the army would be good sort of a great believer of the bear spirit something like that

kislev would look great in colour b and w images are fine it would look good that way

thanks lol yeah ive got orcs, daemons, cathay, albion, slaanesh empire and obviously working on kislev, norse, dark elf and at some point ind {when i sculpt a cool basilisk } so know what u mean

    1. I made a list of all new units for the books here: http://warhammerarmiesproject.blogspot.se/2012/05/updates-for-all-army-books-coming.html

Kislev will get some colour pictures though (like the Bretonnia book). I've been thinking of using some sort of icy parchment as background, will see if I can make look good.

    1. Coreheim? I only know that it's a website dedicated to Mordheim (IIRC) that also hosts several of my books, albeit older versions. How so?

  7. hi m8 one more thing are the kislev sons of ursun going to be able to have lance and sheild rather than great weapon because i put my lancer models on bears or can you at least give the option of either lance and sh

    and obviously i can see youll make the cheaper because demigryphs are better and also cheaper {armour piercing move faster dont have to always pursue and better armoured }

i look forward to how you do you knightly orders too
